Lemony Snicket’s book, The Vile Village, did not fail to intrigue me in this journey of the Baudelaire orphans. As the 7th book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, this novel tells the reader of Violet’s, Klaus’s, and Sunny’s 7th time under new foster care. In the village of V.F.D., the orphans must abide by the village’s thousands of rules as they once again try to rescue their friends, the Quagmire triplets, from Count Olaf’s grasp. My favorite part about this book was how the orphan’s caretaker, Hector, stood up for himself after so long of not doing so. Through the author’s writing style, readers learn more useful facts of the world while also enjoying the escape into the Baudelaires’ world.
