This Lullaby is my favourite book; it is funny, romantic, and truly flawless. Reading from the perspective of eighteen year old Remy is extremely interesting; Remy was raised by a mother who had five different husbands leading Remy not to believe in love. Remy has dating down to a science with one very strict rule: no musicians. The reason Remy has created this rule is because her biological father was a musician, and he left her, her brother and her mother when Remy was young. Remy has her whole life planned out until she meets Dexter. Remy meets Dexter by chance at her new stepdads car dealership Remy finds Dexter annoying and irritating, until they meet again. Dexter breaks every rule Remy has about love; he is messy, loud, unorganized and worst of all a musician. Much to her dismay, Remy finds herself falling for him. The story of Remy and Dexter is exciting, fun, flirtatious, and heartbreaking all at the same time. While you read this book you will cry, laugh, and just want more. This is the first Sarah Dessen book I have read and it will definitely not be the last. I love everything about this book including the title; the title makes you interested, and it relates to the book effectively (This Lullaby is the name of a song that Remy’s father wrote for her). Another reason why you will love this book is because the characters are developed very well. An example of this is how Remy goes from a cynical pessimist when it comes to love to a girl who follows her instincts. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
