Hobb brings the epic tale of the Liveship Traders--begun in Ship of Magic and Mad Ship--to its triumphant conclusion. It is a world in dire straits: Bingtown is in flames, victim of the growing war with Chalced. Althea and Brashen, aboard the Paragon, are finding their blinded Liveship increasingly unstable and unpredictable. And in the midst of the chaos arises a dragon powerful enough to forge the world as she sees fit, be it for destruction, or redemption.

The Liveship Traders trilogy has to be one of the most affecting and engrossing stories in modern fantasy and I'm sad to see it go. Whereas the first two volumes were, to my mind, flawless, Ship of Destiny finished just shy of all-time greatness due to an ending that felt a tad rushed and under-baked. The thrill ride leading up to this novel's denouement is as gripping as anything else that precedes it, and the convergence of characters we've come to know intimately feels satisfying and well fleshed out, but I would have loved to see more of what occurred between the climax of the novel and the ending, as some characters' stories just seem to taper off. Overall, though, this was an incredibly enjoyable read and a strong, if imperfect, final act.

I loved this series and all of Robin Hobbs books they are a wonderful treat to read and re-read. Hope she will continue to write these kind of books in the future. Surrey library has a paperback copy of this book but you have to request it in person.

This was a great series, a truly fresh outlook on dragons, how they came to be.
I would highly recommend these to any dragon lovers.
