Resisted seeing the Antman movies for a long while. I am surprised how much I enjoyed the movies. This movie explains a lot of background and I can see how it will link Avengers Endgame storyline.

When this movie came out, I was VERY against watching it. Mainly because I was (and still am) super salty about the fact that we STILL don't have a stand-alone Black Widow movie. Despite this, I eventually watched it before seeing the sequel and was mildly surprised. It was funny and interesting with good characters and some memorable moments. Worth a watch, though still not one of my favorite Marvel Movies.

Ant-Man is the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to focus on the superhero Ant-Man. After a man named Scott Lang is forced out of his own company by former protégé, Dr. Hank Pym recruits him and his special talents. Scott is a long-time master thief just released from prison. He ends up becoming the superhero Ant-Man. He is trained by Dr. Hank Pym and armed with a suit that gives him supernatural capabilities. The suit allows Ant-Man to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new profound skills to prevent his enemy Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, from using the same technology and using it for evil instead of good. If you are a fan of any other Marvel movies, I would watch Ant-Man. The film is different from the others because it is very lighthearted and fun. Because Ant-Man has powers no other hero has, the shots and effects in the movie are very cool to see. Overall, if I had to rate this movie, I would rate it four out of five stars. @Sapphirereads of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

This science-fiction/action film follows Scott Lang, an incredible thief who becomes the Ant-Man and has a special suit that allows him to shrink to the size of an ant, and has superhuman strength. He must use his newfound power to prevent Yellow Jacket, an evil villain, from using the same technology to take over the world and use it to further spread evil. The special effects were surprisingly well done and Paul Rudd did a fairly good job at portraying his character. I would have liked to see a little more action and suspense throughout the film, but nonetheless I would rate it 3.5/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I really enjoyed the Marvel movie "Ant-Man" starring Paul Rudd. I really liked how Scott Lang (Ant-man) was not your average superhero type. The film was super action-packed, which I liked, and it still had all the charm and pizzazz that all Marvel movies have. Overall, I thought that this movie was super cute and fun. The movie is definitely one for the whole family because it really did have something for everyone, action, heartfelt moments and much much more. I would recommend this movie to people who love superhero movies, especially Marvel ones. I would give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5.

In my opinion Ant-Man may not be the best Marvel movie ever made, but it's entertaining none the less! In this movie after being released from prison, Scott Lang is recruited by Dr. Hank Pym to become the next "Ant-Man". Between training and figuring out how to use a suit that can shrink, it's up to Scott Lang to pull off his biggest heist yet. While Thor might be a Norse god, and Captain America was frozen in ice, Scott Lang's love of his family make him seem like a more relatable hero. This movie is full of amazing visuals and the cameos from Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, and Falcon were a nice touch to tie in the rest of the MCU. 4 Stars

Not your average heist movie.
It could have been a cliched movie with all the tropes ,but Marvel writers make it fresh with unexpected special effect twists.
I did like Scott Lang's crew member saving grace on saving bad guy's lackey or entire crew trying to stay cool on meeting with police roadblock.

Legend of The Ant-Man and military complex:
Darren: When I took over this company for Dr. Pym, I immediately started researching a particle that could change the distance between atoms while increasing density and strength. Why this revolutionary idea remained buried beneath the dust and cobwebs of Hank's research, I couldn't tell you. But just imagine. A soldier the size of an insect. The ultimate secret weapon. An "Ant-Man". Heh heh. That's what they called you. Right, Hank? Silly, I know. Propaganda. Tales to astonish! Trumped up B.S. to scare the U.S.S.R. Hank, will you tell our guests what you told me every single time I asked you, Was the Ant-Man real?
Hank: Just a tall tale.

Extensive quotes at IMDb:
Scott: Hey, how's your girl, man?
Luis: Ah, she left me.
Scott: Oh.
Luis: And my mom died too. And my dad got deported. ... But I got the van!
Scott: My days of breaking into places and stealing shit are over! What do you need me to do?
Hank: ...I want you to break into a place and steal some shit.
Hank: Second chances don't come around all that often. I suggest you take a really close look at it. This is your chance to earn that look in your daughter's eyes, to become the hero that she already thinks you are.
