This low-budget, Italian production, from 1975, played very much like a typical made-for-TV movie.

Set in the late 1800s, Legend of Sea Wolf was loosely based on Jack London's novel of the same name.

The name Sea Wolf in the title refers to the captain, Wolf Larsen (played by veteran actor Chuck Connors), of the seal-hunting ship known as the "Ghost".

Wolf is a mean and ornery S.O.B. who runs his ship like a fanatical tyrant.

On his orders, Wolf's crew regularly recruit new men by forcefully shanghaiing them on shore, then bringing them on board where they are beaten and strong-armed into doing the worst-of-the-worst sorts of tasks on ship.

All-in-all, I found Legend of Sea Wolf to be a somewhat sloppy and lack-lustre production that was only marginally entertaining.
