Great roller coaster ride where the script writers manage to have their cliches and eat their cake too. LL Cool J (a terrific actor and great ad-libber) states "No black dude EVER survives!", a too well-known movie cliche. So the problem is solved by having TWO black dudes, and letting one of them get ate while the other one makes it to the end. HINT: The answer to Samuel L. Jackson`s dramatic question is the title of this film. Skip the soundtrack CD. It leaves out LL Cool J`s dynamite rap finale over the credits. A GYP!

This 1999 fantasy/mystery film is about a group of researchers who are collecting the DNA from sharks until they begin to fight back and outnumber the researchers. They must now act quickly to prevent the sharks from moving out and attacking others. Starring Saffron Burrows, Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Jane, LL Cool J, and more, this movie definitely delivers very dramatic fun revolving around sharks and science experiments. This movie somewhat reminded me of Sharknado, which isn’t exactly a good thing. The acting was often awkward and the storyline was just ridiculous. I would rate this film 2/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Some amazing cast members, some interesting visuals, but it's just laughable... It's not scary and there are things in it that just leave you scratching your head. Intelligent sharks could be a scary notion, but being intelligent doesn't mean you understand how things operate. Albert Einstein was a genius but he wouldn't know how to operate a smart phone. Some random pg-13 stripping, some cheesy jokes that fall flat, but the only saving grace is Sam Jackson's speech... That's it. Otherwise, it's like all the other bland shark movies that could never recapture the Jaws experience.

The best 'B' movie I've ever seen. Unrealistic, predictable, and hilarious!!! Don't take this movie too seriously

What a travesty of CGI. It has a dopey script and dopey effects, but it's got that cheesy horror thrill that you get addicted to, especially if you watch too many Asylum films. It was fun to watch once, but never again.
