OKAY 1979 film with Bette Midler portraying a hard rock lady singer with drug and alcohol problems. She does a good job during the live performances (there are lots) but during the between times she doesn't really add much dramatically to the personality of the character.

Rented and watched this movies several time years ago! It is supposed to be about Janis Joplin This time it makes me thinking about Amy Winehouse and her dramatic, tragic life.
