Re-released on its 25th anniversary, this classic novel is widely considered to be Higgins' greatest work. A thrilling historical fiction set in the WWII setting. Second half of the book is really fast paced with how the event unfold as per and not as per plan. (I wouldn't go beyond and spoil it)
The first half devotes to setting up this plot for the fast paced second half. The first half is like being in the roller coaster on the slow ascent before the thrilling downward ride.
This is an awesome read.
