Wow. I picked up this book knowing nothing about the title or the author and after reading only one page, was pulled deeply into this haunting, sad, atmospheric and beautifully written story. I can't wait to read more by Dunmore.

This is the story of a brother and sister escaping to a bigger life. Somehow, it had an Irish sensibility to me.
