I didn't know what this film was about before borrowing it. I gave up on watching it due to all the bullying, abuse, neglect, drug use, etc. Too much misery for me to handle.

"Moonlight," a beautiful movie about a young black man's coming of age in poor and drug-afflicted Miami. Excellent movie and first rate performances!

This movie truly moved me by the characters vulnerability and survival.

I watched this movie after reading the comments by Bret Easton Ellis in his book "White." He was right.

Was a very heartbreaking but beautiful story that truly moves you, however may be a bit intense for some viewers as it deals with homophopbic abuse to the main character, discrimination, drugs, neglect, etc. that may be considerations…

I so regret that it took me over 5 years to watch this movie. Or maybe I am glad because I just got to experience it for the first time. I watched it last night and can't stop thinking about it. It will be on my mind for a long time. One…

I'm five years late to the game watching this one, that was five years wasted. Amazing movie. Worthy of its many awards.

Somehow I had this on my Netflix list when it was there and didn’t get around to it. Thanks to @VPL, I have now seen how incredible the story-telling is here. The dialogue is sparse, but the performances are so lucid! Highly recommended.

This excellent movie is unique on so many levels- from actors I've never seen to the setting in Paris, the astonishing way it made me laugh from really subtle scenes to the dramas, intrigues, relationships with all the accompanying…

This is an effective, moving film: one that makes self-reflection almost impossible to avoid. Amazing directing, acting, editing, soundtrack, pacing. Very moving.

Who wants to see a sad depressing movie---we need heroes in life , not depression..waste of time.

Good movie, but really sad. A story about a kid named Chirone and his life, in three phases.

Without question one of the best movies I've ever seen - quietly moving and beautifully acted, this one will stick with you long after you've finished watching.

Depressing but wonderful movie. The real settings really help make the movie. Great job by director.

A coming-of-age movie in a time when coming of age takes longer because of the difficulty and pain. Also, “art house” meets the hood. A much welcome and needed film - not to be missed.

A heartbreaking and touching movie about a young black man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami. Great acting for all participating cast. The film had won the Academy Award for Best Movie 2017.

This is a very touching and beautifully shot film about one boy/man's deep pain and isolation. A creative, powerful film!

Long, pointless, and tedious film that's mediocre at it's best. I know that I'm supposed to be enthralled by the edginess of a gay Black man in urban Miami, But, none of this is even remotely "edgy" or unfamiliar. Why I'm supposed to…

This Oscar winning movie, Moonlight is 100% deserving of its high status in the film world. This movie tells a beautiful, poignant story of drugs, life in the ghetto, queer identity, young love, and family. The movie follows the life of…

Well made film. Part 1 was a bit slow as the main character didn’t speak much at all.

Though the first 35 minutes or so were very hushed, the film was compelling and the storytelling was strong. My connection to the narrative did drop off, admittedly, once the homosexual narrative was introduced and then I almost felt the…

Beautiful, perfectly paced, with incredible acting and cinematography. After watching it a second time I found it equally powerful. More than worthy of best picture. The attention to detail is remarkable: imbuing every shot with the…

Slow, uninspired, and retread cinematic shots that ultimitely lead nowhere. The acting is mediocre, the pace moves at a snails crawl, and I really couldn't make a connection with the protagonist. He's lifeless and uninteresting. Why…
